Christian County Fiscal Court is on board with several state road projects as well as further improvements to the Alhambra Theatre. Tuesday morning, State Road Engineer, Blaine Lynch presented the magistrates with the 2018-2019 Rural and Secondary Road Program recommendations.
The program would also include KY-1026 near Princeton Road and KY-508/Butler Road from Vaughn Grove Fairview Road to the Todd County line. Magistrate Mark Cansler says there are less roads that proposed in previous years.
The Court unanimously approved the funding. On behalf of the state, Lynch also proposed paving a fourth road, but the county would have to give up its flex funding.
Judge Executive Steve Tribble says it is something the magistrates will have to discuss. The county agreed last year to give up its flex funding and the money was used to pave an additional state road in Christian County.
In other business, Magistrates approved the bid for the Alhambra Theatre lobby renovations. Magistrate Darrell Gustafson says there were three bids opened on the 8th.
The $1.3 million will cover putting in an elevator, remodeling the current lobby, and adding a second story lobby behind the balcony and overlooking the theatre.
Magistrates also approved several training incentives for the court as well as pay requests for the new Public Safety Building and the Water District project.
