One I-24 Westbound Lane Reopens in Lyon County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reporting the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 are now restricted to one lane near the 41-mile marker in Lyon County at the site of a semi-fire Wednesday morning.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reporting the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 are blocked near the 41-mile marker in Lyon County due to a semi-fire.

District 1 spokesman Keith Todd reported earlier Wednesday morning that the westbound lanes were blocked after early reports indicated the brakes on the truck overheated and caused the truck to catch fire.

Todd said traffic could detour by taking I-69 North at Exit 42 to U.S. 62, then follow U.S. 62 West through Eddyville to return to I-24 at the Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40.
