Teddy Bear Toss To Collect Stuffed Animals For Hospitals

A high school basketball game between two area teams will be about more than school rivalry. Times Leader publisher Chip Hutcheson says the Caldwell County Future Farmers of America will be collecting something special for kids.

The game is a double-header between Caldwell and Todd counties. Stuffed animals will be collected during halftime.

The 29-year-old Carraway died in a traffic accident in 2014. Instead of flowers at his funeral, his parents asked for donations of stuffed animals, which they donated to the hospitals that tried to save his life. A group of volunteers created The Chrissy Bear Fund to continue providing local hospital with bears to give to sick children.
