Princeton Man Indicted For 2016 Valentine's Day Crash

A year after a crash that killed a Princeton woman, a Princeton man has been indicted for her murder. The Caldwell County Grand Jury returned the indictment against 26-year old Travis Dillon Hale for the February 14, 2016, crash that killed 72-year old Jeraldine Reece.

Hale was served the indictment warrant Friday by State Police at the Hopkins County Detention Center, where he was lodged. Hale is charged with Murder and DUI.

Police say the crash happened on Kentucky 139 North, just south of the intersection with Carner Hill Road. Hale's vehicle crossed the center line, and Reece swerved into the other lane to avoid a collision. Hale then swerved back into his own lane and hit Reece's vehicle head-on.

Reece was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner.
