Trial Date Set In Claude Russell Theft Case

A September trial date on a theft charge has been set in Christian Circuit Court for the Trigg County man still waiting a for new trial in a Trigg County murder case. Claude Russell appeared Wednesday in Christian Circuit Court in connection to an alleged theft incident that took place at City Salvage. During his appearance Wednesday, Christian Circuit Judge Andrew self set Russell's trial on the theft charge for September 7th. Russell will return to court for a pre-trial conference on July 5th.

Russell, who is charged in connection with the 2002 murder of Chantell Humphries, is still awaiting a new trial date in Trigg Circuit Court, after his initial trial ended in a hung jury.
