UPDATE - Tennessee Woman Dead Following Oak Grove Shooting

A Tennessee woman is dead following a shooting Thursday night at an Oak Grove hotel. Christian County Deputy Coroner Zach Lamb tells the News Edge the woman is a 22-year old female who died from an apparent gunshot wound. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday at the Regional Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville. Lamb says the release of the name is pending notification of the next of kin.

Oak Grove Police Chief Dennis Cunningham describes what officers found when they responded to the Days Inn, located near the intersection of Kentucky 117 and Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Reports indicate that a male subject suffered what were termed life threatening injuries.

Christian County EMS spokesman Captain Steve Futtrell says the woman was dead when ambulance crews arrived on the scene, with the injured male taken to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.

Chief Cunningham says it is too early to say who is a suspect.

Meanwhile the Oak Grove Police Department arrested 21-year old Ashley Cantrell, of Georgia.

She was lodged in the Christian County Jail and charged with tampering with physical evidence. No additional information has been released concerning her possible involvement in the shootings.
