Wildcats Rally To Win Third Straight At Mayfield

Trigg County used a five-run fifth inning rally to beat Mayfield 7-4 in the Dinger Wood Bat Classic Thursday in Graves County. The Wildcats used three hits, a walk, two Mayfield errors and two wild pitches in the inning to erase a 3-1 deficit in a game delayed 10 minutes due to rain in the third inning.

Drake Oliver’s RBI double was the big hit in the inning, while Will Allen added and RBI single in the sixth inning. Six different Wildcats had hits in the contest, and Trigg took advantage of four Mayfield errors. Savion Radford picked up the pitching win in relief with three innings of two hit baseball.  He allowed a run and struck out three.

Trigg County (8-8) has won three straight games and will play Sikeston, Missouri at 6:30 Friday in Calloway County and a 9:00 game with St. Francis Borgia, Missouri.
