Search Underway For Suspect In Assault Of Trigg Deputies

The Trigg County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help to locate a man accused of assaulting two deputies Saturday afternoon. Sheriff Ray Burnam identified the suspect Brian Rogers, of Cadiz. Burnam says an arrest warrant has been obtained for Rogers for two counts of 3rd Degree Assault, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing and Evading Police, and Alcohol Intoxication.

Rogers is accused of assaulting two deputies after they responded to call about a suspicious person near Kentucky 276 and Cerulean Road. Rogers was reportedly in the middle of the road when deputies arrived. He attempted to flee on foot, then began fighting the deputies. Rogers allegedly hit the deputies in the neck, ribs and knee prior to running into a cornfield.

Burnam is asking anyone with information about Rogers to call Trigg County Dispatch at 270-522-8888.  He adds both deputies were treated for their injuries at Trigg County Hospital and released.
