Arson Suspected In Trigg Nursing Home Fire

The State Fire Marshal's Office and Kentucky State police are investigating a Sunday afternoon fire that displaced 58 residents of the Better Senior Living Home, commonly known as Trigg Manor. Cadiz Fire Chief Kerry Fowler says the State Fire Marshal's office ordered all residents to be relocated to other facilities in the area for the night. Fowler said repairs need to be made to the building before the residents will be allowed to return.

The Cadiz Fire Department was called to Better Senior Living at 5:18 after a fire was reported on the front hall. Fowler says the building was filled with smoke when firefighters arrived on the scene. He adds damage was contained to one room on the east side on the front hall of the facility.

Fowler says arson is suspected, with the State Fire Marshal's office and Kentucky State Police investigating.
