Pembroke will be looking for a new Police Chief after an announcement Monday night. Mark Reid reportedly informed City Council that he would begin as the Commonwealths Detective May 1. He will take the position currently held at the Commonwealth Attorneys Office by Kenny Over.
Lynn Pryor says Over has been such a tremendous asset to this community for the past several decades. He started his career with the Hopkinsville Police Department in 1978 and retired in 2003 as Police Chief. He worked at the Christian County Sheriffs Office before joining Pryor’s team in 2007.
She says the skills and knowledge he possessed will be matched by Reid, who has over 30 years of law enforcement service. Reid retired as a Major after serving 20 years at the Hopkinsville Police Department. He worked with the Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement and the Christian County Sheriffs Office before taking the position as Chief of Police in Pembroke.
