Comer Honored With New American Farm Bureau Award

First District Congressman James Comer is being recognized for his commitment to agriculture by the American Farm Bureau.

Congressman Comer received the first Outstanding New Member of Congress Award by American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall Sunday at the 100th annual convention in New Orleans.

Kentucky Farm Bureau endorsed Congressman Comer for the award because of his committment in Congress to issues important to farmers and ranchers. Kentucky Farm Bureau President Mark Haney says Congressman Comer knows first hand the issues facing agriculture today.

Congressman Comer says he was honored to receive the award.

The Outstanding New Member of Congress Award is presented to one first-time representative or senator, regardless of party affiliation, whose philosophy and record demonstrate a committment to the private enterprise system, sound agricultural policies supported by AFBF, fiscal conservatism and reduced federal regulation of business and individuals.
