Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday around 1:19 am on Interstate 24 in Trigg County. According to Kentucky State Police, three people in a pickup truck were returning to Graves County from Nashville when a vehicle pulled up next to them, with someone in the vehicle firing several shots into the truck. A woman inside the truck was hit by some of gunshots.
The driver of the truck exited onto US 68 and stopped at the Marathon gas station. Two other vehicles also pulled in. State police note that when the two vehicles pulled in, the victim rammed one of two cars and left the scene.
A red passenger car is believed to be involved in the shooting, but police have no better description of the vehicle or people involved. The woman was taken to Trigg County Hospital, where she was treated and released.
