Wild Hogs A Growing Problem In Land Between The Lakes

Wild hogs have continuously been a growing problem in southern states for a number of years and now their population is reportedly exploding in Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area.

LBL Public Affairs Officer Chris Joyner says the wild hogs have been sighted in the recreational area and adds the invasive species could cause a negative economic impact to the region.

He notes in the past two years the number of wild hogs has exploded and they are trying to find more ways to get rid of them.

Joyner says this is an ongoing problem.

He adds they want to get ahead of this problem, but they also need to make sure that what they are doing is going to effectively eradicate the wild hog problem and that it is acceptable to people in this region.
