Lt. Governor Encourages Students During Visit At HCA

Kentucky’s Lieutenant Governor spent the day visiting with students at two regional private schools Thursday.

Jenean Hampton visited with students at both Heritage Christian Academy locations in Madisonville and Hopkinsville. During her stop in Hopkinsville, she spoke to students of all ages on growing up poor in Michigan, the various jobs she has held in her life, and how she has come to rely on God.

Hampton shared some of her accomplishments over the last three years as Lt. Governor, including the Entrepreneurship Challenge that has already awarded $180,000 of in-state scholarship funds to high school students.

2019 marks Hampton’s last year in office as Lt. Governor and there are two other projects she would like to complete before she leaves office.

Hampton took the time to answer questions from students and staff. Some of the questions included how long she trained to become an officer in the United States Air Force, opinions on current political issues, and what her plans are after she leaves office.
