Cooperator Of the Year And Youth Honored At Dinner

The Christian County Conservation District celebrated the Conservation Writing and Drawing Contest winners during their dinner at the Pioneers. The theme of these contests was Diggin It.

During the dinner Tuesday night, the Christian County Conservation District named Cardin Giles Cooperator of the Year.

Christian County Conservation District Vice – Chairman, Wes Parker, said Giles still lives on his 250-acre farm in south Christian county.

Also during the dinner Tuesday night, two scholarships were presented to one high school and one college student. Each winner was given a $1,000 scholarship.  Christian County Conservation District Board Member, Scott Parsons, presented the high school scholarship to Gracey Hancock.

Parker presented the college scholarship to Mary Glenn Orem, who is a student at the University of Kentucky.

There were several students recognized for their participation and talent, they put into the essay and drawing contests.
