The Cadiz Rotary Club kicked off their auction week with the 52nd annual “W.J. Hopson” breakfast Monday morning.
Rotarian Travis Hamby says the theme for the week is “Be the Inspiration”.
He adds the goal for the Cadiz Rotary Radio Auction is $250,000.

Trigg County Senior Citizens Center Director Cissy Lawrence and The Way Christian Youth Center founder Carl Heckman were the guest speakers for the event. They both spoke on ways that the rotary club has helped their organizations over the last few years.
Lawrence notes the club has helped with just about all their needs.

Recently, they were informed about some state budget cuts which would have decreased the hours of operation and the way food was prepared within the center.
Heckman thanks the rotary club for all the help The Way has received over the last several years.

Rotarian Beth Mann recognized Ben and Julie Cundiff, Terry and Carolyn Hamby, FNB Bank, and Cundiff Farms as Foundation Partners. The partners have helped the club every year by donating $5,000 or more over the last eight years.
The club’s annual President Award was presented to Walt Doleman, Rotarian of the Year was given to Paxton Redd, and the Paul Harris Fellow Award recipients were J.B. Moore and KaDonna Woodall.
Rotarian Scott Sutherland announced a new scholarship during the breakfast. The scholarship, which will be named after Ben Cundiff, will be known as the “Cundiff Service Above Self” scholarship.
Cundiff says it is always inspiring to see how much the club does each year.

The Cadiz Rotary Radio Auction will take place each night from 7:00 until 10:00 through Friday. Trigg County Public Schools will host an Education Special Tuesday night at 6:30. It will be held at the Cadiz Baptist Church Annex and can be heard on 106.5 WKDZ or wkdzradio.com each night.
