UPDATE- Driver Fled After Hopkinsville Wreck

Police have released more information on a wreck that happened on Lafayette Road at Eagle Way Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Ceasar Sierra told the News Edge at the scene just after 10 a.m. 36-year-old Justin Benjamin of Hopkinsville was traveling southbound when he hit an SUV in front him driven by 57-year-old Melody Joseph of Hopkinsville pushing it into a van driven by 55-year-old Barbara Brasher of Nortonville.

Benjamin who reportedly caused the wreck was found to have methamphetamine and a glass pipe in his vehicle.

Benjamin was charged with possession of methamphetamine, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear.

The road remained closed for an hour as the wreck was cleaned up.
