Suspect In Greenville Road Murder Arraigned

A Hopkinsville woman indicted last month in connection to a fatal shooting on Greenville Road was arraigned in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday.

19-year old Anshanique Leavell is charged with murder, receiving stolen property (firearm) and complicity to tampering with physical evidence. She is accused of shooting Amareya Freeman at an apartment complex on June 6.

At the arraignment, Leavell’s defense attorney, Michael Thompson, appeared before Judge John Atkins and entered a not guilty plea on her behalf. Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling informed Judge Atkins the discovery is not complete.

Judge Atkins scheduled a pretrial conference for October 16 at 8:30 a.m.
