Trigg County 4-H Ham Producers Competing At State Fair

Country hams and the 4-H members from Trigg County that cured the hams will be among those competing for top honors Thursday on the opening day of the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville.

Trigg County Agriculture Extension Agent Graham Cofield says Thursday is the culmination of a project that began in late January at Broadbent B & B Foods in Kuttawa.

Thursday 4-H members give a three to five minute speech on topics ranging from storing and cooking country hams to building a curing facility for their county country ham project. While the 4-H members are giving their speeches, the hams are judged in Cloverville at the State Fair.
