Boots And Bandannas Deemed Successful, Will Happen Again Next Year

The inaugural Boots and Bandannas event is being considered a success.

Jim Mullen was among the organizers and says Saturday night’s event brought a lot of people to the Lake Barkley State Resort Park Convention Center.

He adds they raised around $3,600, with funds going to park projects, which may soon include installing an electric car charging station.

Mullen notes at this time, the money raised is not earmarked for any projects.

The Friends of Lake Barkley State Resort Park group is able to get projects completed quicker, as opposed to waiting on the federal government.

Mullen adds the event will take place next year.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the Lake Barkley State Park Convention Center.

The group also sponsors the annual firework show at the Lake Barkley Beach, among other community events.
