Retired Principal Writes Book To Inspire Children

A longtime educator and former principal in Trigg County is now a published author of a children’s book.

Ann Taylor tells the News Edge she retired as principal at Trigg County Primary School in 2017 and has been working on finishing a book about a pig named Oinker.

She says the inspiration for the book came after a meeting with teachers about how to write problems and projects for children in science and seeing the Ham Festival projects in the halls of the school.

The illlustrations were created by middle school art teacher Danielle Knight, who Taylor says is a fabulous artist.

She adds the children’s book will be available for purchase at her booth at the Ham Festival this week. In addition, she has two book signings scheduled – one at the John L. Street Library on Monday, October 14 and the second at the Janice Mason Art Museum on Monday, October 21.
