Kentucky Ag Leadership Programs Tours Western Kentucky

The 2019-2020 Kentucky Agriculture Leadership Program took a first-hand look at Western Kentucky Agriculture this week as they met with area farmers and agribusiness leaders.

The class began their tour of western Kentucky Tuesday and wrapped it up Thursday afternoon as they heard from Farm Service Agency Deputy Administrator Peggy Brown, retired Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Bill Cunningham and farmers Lee Roby, Bruce Cline, Bart Peters, and Brandon Oliver.

Brown says she was impressed with the class.

Justice Cunningham encouraged the class to be leaders in agriculture.

Class member Tyler Ferguson from Johnson County says the class has already covered a variety of topics.

Daviess County Farmer Jim Gilles says each member of the class has a unique agriculture connection.

While in Western Kentucky the class visited Lester Farms in Gracey, Harton Tobacco Farm in Trigg County and heard from a number of area farmers and agribusiness leaders.
