Christian County CASA Getting Much Needed Funding

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin with Christian County CASA Executive Director Virginia Erxleben

The Christian County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program was recently notified they will receive 100% of the funding they need to hire additional staff members.

Virginia Erxleben, Executive Director of the program attended the Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) Grant Award Celebration at the State Capitol in Frankfort on Wednesday. The program will receive approximately $49,000 in funding. These funds will allow the program to hire additional staff to advocate for children of dependency, neglect, and abuse.

The CASA Program of Christian County has been in operation for over 1 year with one staff person. This was the first year the program was eligible to write for the VOCA Grant funds.
