A former Commonwealth Attorney is showing support for a nonpartisan First District Supreme Court Justice candidate.
G. L. Ovey, former Commonwealth Attorney for the 56th Judicial Circuit comprising Caldwell, Livingston, Lyon, and Trigg Counties has endorsed Court of Appeals Judge Shea Nickell. Ovey notes that Nickell also has endorsements from former Justice Bill Cunningham and Justice Bill Graves, as well as the Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police. Ovey states that “Judge Nickell possesses the qualifications, integrity, and experience needed to serve the citizens of the First Judicial District as their next Justice on the highest court of this Commonwealth.”
Nickell is running against Whitney Westerfield Tuesday to fill the unexpired term of retired Justice Bill Cunningham.
