Alan Watts Reports From NAFB 2019 In Kansas City

The National Association of Farm Broadcasting 76th Annual Meeting is taking place in Kansas City.  News and Farm Director Alan Watts is providing live reports.

The NAFB Annual Meeting began Wednesday, November 13 with the NAFB Foundation Scholarship Luncheon.

Wednesday afternoon former Secretary of Agriculture John Block moderated a panel discussion about How Does Farming Keep From Repeating the 80’s.  In the 5pm report we feature comments from Secretary Block, who was serving with President Ronald Reagan during the 80’s

Thursday morning we featured comments from Missouri farmer Garrett Riekof, who talked about what he is doing on his farm to prevent a repeat of the 80’s

Thursday during the noon report we visit with NAFB 2019 President Lorrie Boyer from Colorado.

Thursday at 5:00 we provided an update about the annual officer elections for the National Association of Farm Broadcasting.

Friday at 5:35 our report featured a review of the 2019 NAFB Hall of Fame inductions of Tom Steever with Brownfield Ag News and Max Armstrong with Farm Progress America.

Friday’s 6:50 am report feature comments from Farm Service Agency Director Richard Fordyce.

 

At noon Friday we spoke with Christian Walters, who was stationed at Fort Campbell with the 101st Airborne Division and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, about his time in Kentucky and what he is doing now.

 

 

To finish out the annual meeting United States Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue discussed trade, e-15, industrial hemp and other topics with Farm Broadcasters Friday afternoon.
