Grand Jury Returns Indictments For Robbery, Rape

The Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments Friday for robbery, strangulation, rape, and more.

58-year old Tony Earl Jones, of Hopkinsville, was indicted for first-degree robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. The charges stem from an assault and robbery that occurred at Car Outlet on Fort Campbell Boulevard on Friday, October 18th and an armed robbery at the Family Dollar on East 9th Street on Monday, October 21.

The grand jury also indicted 18-year old Jacquavon Poindexter, 22-year old Jacorey Deshaun Majors, and 24-year old Christopher Lewis, III, all of Hopkinsville of first-degree robbery. Hopkinsville Police report the three engaged in an armed robbery after luring and manipulating victims to their residence on Bryan Street. Police say the victims were ambushed, held at gunpoint, threatened, and told to turn over personal property.

In addition, 32-year old Guy William Johnson, III, of Hopkinsville was indicted on first-degree strangulation, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree assault, and other traffic offenses. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reports Johnson shoved his wife to the floor, took her phone, and struck her multiple times on the head and body. The victim also reported during the altercation Johnson wrapped both of his hands around her to pin her down and reportedly choked her to the point of unconsciousness. The victim stated to police that Johnson would not let her leave the residence for nearly an hour by blocking the door and shoving her. The altercation made its way to Johnson’s parents’ home, where the deputies report Johnson kicked and dented the driver’s door and broke the rear window of the vehicle registered to the victim and took the vehicle without permission.

18-year old Terissa Stewart, of Hopkinsville, was indicted for second-degree rape. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reports Stewart kissed, touched, and penetrated the 12-year old female victim with a foreign object.

The grand jury also indicted 25-year old Roderick Ladale Crossley for first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, and other charges. Two reports from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office state an officer attempted to pull Crossley over as he was driving along Pembroke-Oak Grove Road, but he refused to stop and accelerated to speeds reaching over 110 mph at times. The pursuit even included a period of traveling on Interstate 24, where Crossley traveled through the center of the two lanes and drove the eastbound and westbound lanes. He was arrested following the pursuit on Trevor Lane after he jumped out of the vehicle, as it was moving and was later found hiding in a trash can. After Crossley was taken into custody, his female passenger told law enforcement she demanded multiple times for him to pull over and let her out, but he refused.

And a superseding indictment was returned for 25-year-old Jasmin Fennell, 27-year-old Ernest McLennen, IV, and 47-year-old Condela Hill, all of Hopkinsville. All three have now been indicted for six-counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and two counts of first-degree criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12. The charges stem from Friday, August 23 after Hopkinsville Police say they found two children under 6-years-old in the roadway on Canton Street crying. The children reportedly did not have adequate bedding, the front door of their home could not be secured, and police found spoiled food in the home along with trash and bugs.
