Governor Beshear Presents Grant To Janice Mason Art Museum

Governor Andy Beshear visited Cadiz Monday afternoon to present grant money to the Janice Mason Art Museum.

The grant, a part of the Community Development Block Grant program, awarded $340,227 to allow for renovations to make the building handicap accessible and renovate existing bathrooms.

Governor Beshear says the check presentation is a value in his administration.

Beshear adds the renovations will help the Janice Mason Art Museum continue to be a vital part of Kentucky tourism.

The museum had over 3,200 visitors in 2018, does not charge a fee to visit, and is home to a Trigg County Bicentennial Retrospective exhibit through Friday, February 28.

The Community Development Block Grant program is overseen by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Before making a stop in Cadiz, Governor Beshear stopped in Dawson Springs, to present a $1-million grant to replace damaged sewer lines and help prevent pollution.
