Madisonville Man Facing Two Counts Of Murder

A Madisonville man is facing murder charges after two people were found deceased Monday morning.

Major Andy Rush from the Madisonville Police Department reports officers were called for a welfare check in the 700 block of Hodge Street around 8:30. Upon arrival, officers made entry into the home and found 43-year old Elvis Gipson and 40-year old Joseph Gipson had both sustained a single gunshot wound to the head. A third person, 26-year old Gunner Madison, was also found in the home. Madison had sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Baptist Health in Madisonville.

Rush adds 36-year old Jeremy Wicks was apprehended and questioned in relation to the incident. Detectives were able to recover several pieces of evidence on the scene.

Wicks is charged with two counts of murder, one count of first-degree assault, along with various other weapon and drug-related charges.
