Hopkinsville Woman Given New Home Through Home Improvement Program

The home is located at 125 S. Clay Street

A Hopkinsville woman was given a new home thanks to the Hopkinsville Home Improvement Program and other local partnerships.

Community and Development Services Management Services Coordinator Laura Faulkner says Karen Dilliard is adapting to a “new normal” at her new home. The home was built through a partnership between the Christian County-Hopkinsville Development Corporation and the City of Hopkinsville. Under the Hopkinsville Home Improvement program, deteriorated houses are demolished and subsequently replaced in the same footprint as the former home utilizing Kentucky Housing Corporation GAP Financing Pool funds and Community Development Block Grant dollars.

The original house was demolished by Outlaw Contracting Company, Inc., while Done Right Remodeling was hired to construct the new home.
