The Kentucky Beef Quality and Care Assurance (BQCA) certification will be available online June 1st.
Producers must complete three modules each containing one video and a corresponding test which must be passed before moving to the next module. Each test is also available for multiple attempts.
Once the BQCA course is completed the information will be processed by the Kentucky Beef Network and the corresponding certification card will be mailed to the producer’s county extension office at the end of each month.
If a producer cannot access the online course or wishes to wait until in-person courses are available and their BQCA certification was valid on March 1, 2020, their existing certification remains active.
This program was implemented to raise awareness on the proper handling and care of cattle while keeping producers safe and supplying healthy beef to consumers. Completion of this course also allows beef and dairy producers to enhance their product and maximize marketability.
The program will cost $5 and will be available on the Kentucky Beef Network webpage.
