Comer Updates Trigg County Farm Bureau

Congressman James Comer spoke at the Trigg County Farm Bureau Legislative Appreciation Dinner Monday at the Harper House in Cadiz.

Comer said due to recent disruptions including the trade war with China, along with the COVID-19 pandemic, agriculture has been through some trying times.

Comer also reflected on the career of state Senator Stan Humphries and one of his major accomplishments which allows TVA in-lieu-of tax dollars to be returned to the counties and used for economic development.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic,  Comer said these are difficult times in Washington D.C. and across the nation, however, he believes it is best to re-open the economy as quickly and safely as possible.

Several local leaders attended the event including Representative Walker Thomas and Trigg County Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander. Congressman Comer thanked them for their leadership and appreciation for agriculture.
