Red Cross Blood Drive in Princeton Thursday

The American Red Cross is reminding healthy, eligible individuals they can still schedule a blood or platelet donation appointment to help patients counting on lifesaving blood during a blood drive Thursday.

Officials state the blood drive will be held from noon until 6PM at Calvary Baptist Church, which is located at 121 Kentucky Avenue in Princeton. They add donors are being asked to enter the rear side door of the church and go directly into the gym.

Officials state donating blood right now is a safe process and people should not hesitate to give and receive blood as Red Cross employees will follow extensive protocols to keep everyone safe. All donors will be required to have their temperature taken and will be asked to return at a later date if their temperature is greater than 99.5 degrees. All potential donors will also be required to wear a mask at all times and masks will be available for those who do not have one. Donors are also being encouraged to use hand sanitizer prior to using tablets and laptops while checking-in and outlining their health history.

Staff members will have their temperatures taken before being allowed to work and will wear gloves during the entire appointment, changing gloves between donors.

Potential donors can make an appointment by calling the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or by visiting redcrossblood.org and entering Princeton in the search bar. Potential donors can also use the RapidPass process at home by completing an online pre-donation and health history questionnaire at their convenience on the day of their appointment.
