Governor Beshear Provides “State of the Pandemic” Address

Governor Andy Beshear provided his fourth address to residents of the Commonwealth Thursday afternoon, where he discussed the state of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his remarks, Governor Beshear announced 805 new COVID-19 cases, raising the state’s total to 54,772. In addition, he confirmed 22 new deaths, which is the single-highest one day total of deaths since the pandemic began on March 6 and raised the death toll to 1,035.

Over the last two weeks, over 9,200 new COVID-19 cases have been announced across Kentucky. Beshear says with the increase of cases, the White House continues to urge the state to keep the mask mandate in place.

Governor Beshear continues by asking residents to do the right thing.

He adds everything in our lives depends on how we handle the virus.

Beshear used the 15-minute address to share how the state has handled the pandemic and praised Kentuckians on all of the sacrifices they have made over the last six months.
