Two students who attended schools in Christian County have been named 2021 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.
Christian County Public Schools spokesman John Rittenhouse says Keegan Pendleton, is a product of Hopkinsville High School and is currently attending the Gatton Academy on the campus of Western Kentucky University. Keegan is the son of Scott and Terri Pendleton.
In addition, University Heights Academy senior Rohan Desai was also named a semifinalist.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is a prestigious competition that recognizes outstanding students across the nation with less than one percent of high school seniors qualifying. The primary goal of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation is to honor the nation’s scholastic champions and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence. Finalists will be announced in the Spring of 2021.
