Beshear Announced 4,560 New COVID Cases, 47 Deaths Wednesday

Governor Andy Beshear announced the state’s fourth-highest report of new COVID-19 cases Wednesday afternoon along with the third-highest report of new deaths related to the virus.

The governor said, tragically, Kentucky is going to pass 3,000 COVID-19 deaths. He added we can stop this by wearing masks and following the rules and restrictions. He said now is not the time to pull away the authority that keeps us safe that allows the state to be fluid and flexible with a virus that appears to be mutating and spreading more aggressively.

Governor Beshear reported 4,560 new cases Wednesday afternoon and 47 deaths, raising the state’s death toll to 2,991. He said 1,702 cases are hospitalized, 403 are in intensive care units, and 225 are on ventilators.

The state’s positivity rate increased slightly to 12.29% from Tuesday’s rate of 12.23%.
