Christian County Schools Catching Students Up After Virtual Learning

As students are getting back into the habit of the traditional model at Christian County Public Schools, the district is working to catch everyone up on what they may have missed.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel said they are facing increased quarantines among students but added it’s important having them back in the classroom.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the district had 26 in-person active cases among students, with the majority coming from Hopkinsville Middle and High schools.

Bentzel added they are still monitoring all COVID-19 data to ensure in-person classes is the right step for the district.

Last week, the News Edge reported around 300 high school students had not returned to class or made contact with the district following the transition back to in-person classes. Bentzel said that number is now closer to 50.
