Hopkinsville Man Charged After Threatening To Kill Officer

A Hopkinsville man was charged after he was reportedly found intoxicated in public and threatened to kill a police officer Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to a disturbance on East 21st Street and found 33-year-old Miles Smith with slurred speech and holding two beer can’s in his hands.
Smith reportedly would not comply when police were putting him in handcuffs and threatened to kill the officer while on the way to the jail.
He is charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
