Prom Dates Narrowed Down For Christian County Seniors

Although official dates for each school will be announced Friday morning during a Facebook Live event, Christian County Public Schools has released the two dates for prom for both high schools.

The district said they are committed to providing prom, honor ceremonies, and graduation safely this spring. To comply with state Healthy at School Guidelines, Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School will be hosting a senior-only prom at the Stadium of Champions. Seniors will be allowed to bring their choice of date.

The proms will be held Friday night, April 16 and 23, but prom will occur the following Saturday in case of inclement weather.

Students will enter the Stadium starting at 7:00, and the dance will occur from 8:00 to 10:00.

Officials added students would be able to remove their masks during the entrance, which will be streamed live for parents and families. Parents will not be permitted to attend prom entrance activities to limit crowd size. Students will be required to wear masks during other prom activities.

There will be no prom ticket cost to students, and temperature checks will be conducted in the Stadium of Champions parking lot before entering the facility.
