The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will deploy approximately 160 Soldiers to Fort Knox to support an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise to be held there.
The Soldiers are expected to deploy Tuesday and come from the division’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team.
The exercise is a Department of Defense-directed, strategic effort designed to rapidly test the Army’s ability to alert and deploy units worldwide.
