Trigg Fishing Duo Looking to ‘Reel In’ Donations

Jordan Hampton and Hunter Shelton

Two Trigg County High School students have the opportunity to fish in some national tournaments this summer and need funding to participate.

Hunter Shelton and Jordan Hampton have been members of the Trigg County fishing team the last few years and have fished in numerous tournaments throughout their lifetime. Hampton said he has grown and learned a lot, while Shelton added the experiences have led them to people they would have probably never met before.

Both will fish in the Major League Fishing High School National Championship and World Finals Tournament, and the Bassmaster High School National Championship.

Shelton said those tournaments will take place this summer.

To help raise funds needed, a country music concert will be held Saturday night at 7:30, at 859 South Tanyard Road in Cadiz.

Trigg County High School senior Arielle Evans will open for Bridges. Anyone coming to the show is asked to bring their own chairs.

During an interview with the News Edge, Hampton shared how they prepare for national tournaments.

Trigg County freshman Thomas Hawkins and Brayden Jones have also qualified for a national fishing competition this summer.
