Beshear: State to Fully Reopen June 11

One day after the CDC announced mask wearing for vaccinated people is no longer required in the fight against COVID-19, Governor Andy Beshear said Friday the state would reopen on Friday, June 11.This means events and business can resume 100-percent capacity, and the state’s mask mandate will end.

Beshear said setting the reopening date four weeks out gives people a chance to prepare and get vaccinated.

In addition, all events and businesses with 1,000 or fewer people in attendance will increase to 75-percent capacity, while those events of more than 1,000 people will have 60-percent capacity on May 28.

The CDC announced Thursday that fully vaccinated people could stop wearing a mask indoors and outdoors. However, Beshear said that some businesses may still require a mask until June 11.
