Internet connection has been a main priority and is now deemed essential for many rural communities following the COVID-19 pandemic, and Pennyrile Electric is working to help expand services across Trigg, Christian, and Todd counties.
Pennyrile Electric spokesman Brent Gilkey tells the News Edge they are the perfect company to partner with Hopkinsville Electric System and Energynet to help expand fiber internet service.
Gilkey adds this will help the region with the best internet service possible.
The Pennyrile and Hopkinsville Electric partnership was announced in late 2020, with many local government agencies approving funding to give to either company to help with the project.
