Princeton Man Killed In Lyon County Crash

A Princeton man was killed in a wreck on US 641 two miles north of Eddyville Wednesday evening.

Kentucky State Police say a tractor-trailer driven by 39-year-old Travis Rodden of Poinsett, Arkansas was northbound when he lost control, ran off the road and hit a tree on the west side of the road.

Rodden’s trailer was blocking the southbound lane of the road and was hit by an Auto Refuse truck driven by 42-year-old William Hardrick.

Police say Hardrick was not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County Coroner’s Office.

Waste Corporation of America (WCA) Territory Sales Representative Jeff Simms tells the News Edge that they regret to inform the community that WCA/GFL Waste suffered a terrible loss Wednesday in a vehicle accident.

Simms says waste services at the Princeton facility will be closed Thursday to mourn the loss of their team member. As a result, he adds customers may experience a delay in services potentially Thursday and Friday in Caldwell, Crittenden, Trigg, Lyon and Christian counties. He asks customers to leave the trash at the curb as WCA will provide pick up as soon as they are able.
