Significant Storm Damage Reported In Hopkinsville

Significant storm damage is being reported in Hopkinsville after several reports of a funnel cloud were reported around 9:30 Saturday morning.

Although no watches or warnings were in place for Christian County the storm hit shortly before 9:30. The News Edge’s John Godsey says the damage path began near Southern States on 14th Street and continues to near East First Street.

Reports to the News Edge indicate a funnel cloud was spotted over Hopkinsville near Grace and Mercy at the across from First Baptist Church and continued heading northeast across Hopkinsville.  Godsey says emergency officials are reporting no injuries at this time.

Godsey says emergency officials think the damage was only in Hopkinsville, but are continuing to check.
