Hopkinsville Electric Reports Power Restored To Majority Of Customers

Hopkinsville Electric System officials say power has been restored to the vast majority of customers affected by the Saturday tornado.

They report the primary power lines that were damaged by the storm have been repaired. Although power has been restored to the vast majority of customers, some individual customer lines still require repair before power can be restored to their home or business.

If the electric line running to a home of business is down and you have not contacted Hopkinsville Electric, please call 270-887-4219 to let them know your address. Your name will be added to the list of homes or businesses will require repair to the service line.

Immediately following the storm more than 1,600 Hopkinsville Electric System customers were without electricity. Several electric lines and poles were damaged or blown down in the area hit by the tornado.
