Heritage Christian Academy to Send Two Juniors to Governor’s Scholars Program

Two juniors from Heritage Christian Academy have been selected as 2022 Governor’s Scholars and will participate in a five-week learning experience at one of three Kentucky college campuses.

Those selected from over 1,000 applicants were Jacob Bottoms and McKenzi Travis.

The Governor’s Scholars Program was established in 1983 and provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience at one of several college campuses in the state.

Students looking to be a part of the program must complete an application and compete with others from across the state. Those selected attend the five-week program free of charge.

They will attend either Centre College in Danville, Morehead State University in Morehead, or Bellarmine University in Louisville. While on campus for the program, students take in-depth exploratory and inquiry classes, conduct service projects, and participate in clubs, discussions, and lecture sessions.
