Lyon County’s Caitlyn Hooks Wins Miss Western Kentucky State Fair Title

Caitlyn Hooks is no stranger to pageants, but the Lyon County High School senior has always wanted to participate in the fair queen pageant at the Kentucky State Fair. She’ll get that chance after being crowned Miss Western Kentucky State Fair Saturday.

Hooks said for her, pageants are a source of confidence.

click to download audioJoining Hooks in the final six Saturday was her friend Hanna Holsapple of Marshall County. Together, they approach every pageant they participate in with the same credo.

click to download audioHooks, who is the captain of the Lyon County cheerleading squad, is also active in several clubs including FFA. In addition to competing at the Kentucky State Fair in August, Hooks will also seek a shot at winning Miss Kentucky Teen USA.

Madison Bennett of Madisonville was named second runner-up. Alarryia Jones of Madisonville was named first runner-up. Joining them in the final six were Holsapple, Sloan Hampton of Hopkinsville, and Shanna McClung of Grayson County.

Taylor Goodwin of Cadiz was named Miss Congeniality.
