Delavan Ag Pumps Coming To Todd County By October

Elkton’s good economic news continued Wednesday, when Governor Andy Beshear announced that Delavan Ag Pumps has full plans to locate a new manufacturing facility in Todd County.

The project will create 30 full-time jobs in management, engineering and assembly, with a $2.3 million investment in Kentucky’s agri-business sector, which is consistently showcasing rapid growth.

This operation is expected to come online by October.

Delavan will locate in the Marsh Building on West Main Street in Elkton, and the facility will house production and warehouse operations that will support the company’s recently-expanded lawn and garden business.

This location will also have the capability to take on additional product lines in the future, and Beshear noted that Delavan officials took specific interest in west Kentucky for several reasons.

In a written statement, Elkton Mayor Arthur Green said he anticipates a “successful partnership” between community and company, and that he has “no doubt” they’ll enjoy success in the city, and the region, “for years to come.”

Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield wrote that Delavan would “create new opportunities for individuals, families and businesses throughout our region.”

South Western Kentucky EDC Executive Director Carter Hendricks added that the company has found “a long-term home in the Commonwealth,” and gave nod to Economic Development Secretary Jeff Noel and Todd County leadership for the move.

Hendricks said that the region’s “long and proud agriculture heritage” should bring further confidence to Delavan’s decision.
