The HES-EnergyNet Hopkinsville Christmas Parade is, once again, headed to downtown for its holiday light show — set for 5:15 PM, Saturday, December 10. And this year’s parade theme, and Grand Marshal, honors children.
The 2022 parade theme is “It’s A Kid’s Christmas,” and Terence Davis, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County, has been tabbed as its Grand Marshal.
In a written statement, Davis said he’s “honored” to be selected, and “can’t wait to be a part” of one of the longest-running traditions in Hopkinsville.
An after-dark parade, the 1.5-mile route will again be a winter-lights show, with entries from local businesses and organizations more than welcome to run in the parade. It’ll move south along Main Street, from Glass Avenue to 13th.

Parade entry opens October 3. All units must include lights as part of their decoration or display. Parade registration forms will be available at the Thomas Street Rec Center at 2660 Thomas Street. Or, call the
Parks and Recreation office at (270) 887-4290. Parade rules and information will also be available starting next week on the Parks and Rec website at hoptownrec.com.
The deadline for Christmas Parade float registration is Friday, Nov. 18. The cost to enter a float into the parade is $20 and a new toy.
Traditional display units and Christmas-themed floats will be joined once again by holiday-decorated golf carts. The popular Golf Cart Division allows for entries that are less costly or time-consuming to put together.
Cash prizes will be presented for the traditional float divisions and golf carts. WKDZ/WHVO radio sponsors the “People’s Choice Award,” presented to the most popular float as voted on by the public.
