Banks Elected To Lafayette City Council By One Vote

Jared Donald Thatcher is the new mayor of Lafayette after running unopposed in Tuesday’s election.

The lone incumbent commissioner seeking re-election to the city council received the third-most votes. Sandra Torres received 30 votes, compared to Timothy Hancock’s 39 and Stephen Stites’ 33 votes.

The final spot on Lafayette City Council goes to Norma Banks, whose 22 votes were one more than Autumn Hamilton and three more than Jacob Mason.
